EU – CoWork Developing Compassionate Workplaces
SKAG was founded in 1956 in Athens, Greece, and today operates the largest production facility in Greece in the field of paper stationery and filing products. Through a steadily growing and highly successful course, the company has established itself as the undisputed leader of the Greek market, while also maintaining a strong international presence through the global SKAG brand.
Quality has always been a core pillar of the company’s philosophy. SKAG guarantees the high quality of its products by selecting safe and responsible raw materials that do not burden the environment. The SKAG name represents not only the quality of its products, but also the high level of services provided throughout every stage of cooperation, from customer service to communication and the overall customer experience.
Over the past years, the company has made significant investments in digital printing and advanced finishing capabilities, further strengthening its production capacity. As a result, SKAG is now able to develop and manufacture OEM stationery products for companies worldwide, with designs and specifications tailored to the needs of each local market. Its production activity covers a wide range of products, from school supplies, exercise books, notebooks and writing pads to corporate printed materials, menus, brochures, business cards, ring binders and specialized printing applications.
SKAG’s growth and success are based on steady and strategic steps, with emphasis on consistency, innovation, and long-term value creation. The company’s principles and values derive directly from its DNA and form the foundation upon which reliability, quality and consistency are built across every aspect of its operations.
At the same time, SKAG invests substantially in people and in creating a modern, supportive, and human-centered working environment. In this context, the company voluntarily participates, in collaboration with the Athens University of Economics and Business, in the European research program “EU-CoWork – Compassionate Workplaces” for the period 2024–2028.
Throughout the duration of the program so far, a series of meetings and workshops have been carried out between the SKAG team and the scientific team of the Athens University of Economics and Business (AUEB), aiming to map and strengthen the corporate culture in matters of practical support and compassion towards employees who are going through terminal illness, grieving or taking care of relatives. In parallel, extensive research and evaluation have been conducted through anonymous employee questionnaires and personal interviews, with the objective of identifying real needs, challenges, and opportunities for improving the working environment.
Based on the analysis of the findings already obtained, the SKAG team, under the scientific guidance of AUEB, is proceeding with the development of potential proposals and practical interventions aimed at strengthening employee well-being, empathy, collaboration, and psychological resilience. This initiative forms part of SKAG’s broader strategy for sustainable and human-centered growth, where the company’s progress is directly linked to the development and care of its people.
